To work on an iconic brand like Folgers is an awesome opportunity. The coffee brand has been an American staple for more than 150 years. Its "Best Part of Wakin' Up" melody is probably one of the most famous jingles in history. And who doesn't love the old "Peter Comes Home" commercial? I swear; I tear up every time.
Fast forward to the future, and it can be a challenge for Folgers to stay relevant. Speaking to both diehard loyals who have great nostalgia and love for the brand, while also attracting millennials who rather visit a barista than brew from home.
Working with Folgers' digital agency POSSIBLE, I've concepted and wrote many of the brand's social posts for Facebook and Twitter. The fans' comments and reactions to the creative are always entertaining. Will they someday look back and fondly remember a Facebook post with great emotion like I do the "Peter Comes Home" commercial? Not a chance. But I'd like to think Peter himself would give it a like... wherever he is. Peeeeeter!
